Dawning of 2012, A Joyous New Year Indeed

Dear Friends, Family and Saints of Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippine, To Our Partner Church; GGCF and Abundant Harvest Ministries Fl,

I would like to greet you a Happy New Year, a dawning of new hope; new peace. The beginning of a brighter day; the advent of hope in our walk and breakthrough in our stead. There is much to be thankful for as we look back and see God’s great faithfulness unfold in our lives, how His blessing made manifest and His tender mercies shined on us all. The year 2011 was indeed a time of God’s great favor as He blessed us with AHF’s first year anniversary, strengthened ministries, changed lives and touched many hearts. 2011 presented the formation of the Armor Bearers, the augmented movement of the Harvest Groups, The growth of the youth ministry and the music ministry, and finally the amazing events like retreats and initiatives that God drove to empower His people.

It has been a great year, a year that stands as testament to God’s great faithfulness as He empowers His saints to proclaim His name and draw people to Him. I stand here grateful, thankful, praising God for His great faithfulness in my life, in the planting of the church, in blessing in my family; in all and everything.

2011 is the year when it was impressed upon my heart to stand up to the call that God has placed in my family’s heart that could be found in Luke 1:17

“17 It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord”

There is much to do in this ever changing world, as self dependence is brought up and God dependence is taken out of the equation. We live in dark times, when the focus of man lies on pleasure, seeking the path of hedonism to drown the hardships of life instead of focusing on the Savior, the One who can truly satisfy the longing in each heart. We live in an age where faith is forgotten, people have traded the peace the Psalmist often wrote about for the empty boastings of the humanistic mind. There is much we can do, much we ought to do.

In the age of information, technology at our finger tips- mankind has never been so ignorant. Yet this infirmity in today’s society can be remedied. Today there is a call to be the rarity, be the one who thinks differently. Be a light to those who lost all touch to the King of Kings.

I believe that 2011 is just the advent to the breakthrough we are about to experience in 2012; I see revival coming through; as people seek the Lord. The day is coming when people would turn away from all wickedness and seek God’s light and peace. The question I would like to pose is: Where are we at this breakthrough? Friend, God wants to use you, God wants to use us all. It is time to let go of every wickedness, wear the armor of God and seek His face alone that we may stand as beacons of His light to the lost. This 2012 is the time when we ought to take a pledge to never be the same, never fall back, move forward, move focused. God driven, God dependent, God empowered.

It is time to begin this Faith revolution even in the comfort of our own homes to the world we face each day, to turn the Hearts of the Fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the Wisdom of the righteous.

It is time for Father’s to take up the mantle, this is the moment when Mother’s need to stand and be the gentle reminder in each home. For the children to focus on God and direct their path to Him alone. Today is the day when the ignorant stand filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, when the disobedient state: “Enough is enough! We ought to take a stand, we stand obedient to His calling, obedient to God’s wisdom and purpose.” This is the time to seek God’s face, seek His righteousness, seek His goodness.

Friends, 2012 is the time when every believer ought to unite, when every Christian ought to break down the walls that divide us, stand for church union and take a stand against the wave of uncertainty that the world throws at us. This is the time to stand in our purpose, to become the people who God has called us to be that we may share the ministry of reconciliation, be a helping hand to those who have fallen astray and prepare a people for the coming of the Lord.

Thus as New Creations as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”

May we take this time to bring ourselves to God’s presence, may we seek Him and set aside the merriment for awhile and feast in the Spirit. Remember that we are from this world but not of this world, we already stand as New Creations. We stand not as the people who think only of pleasure, only of self but people who start to think differently; people who are are God focused, God driven, God dependent. May we stand to empty our hearts to Him and ask for His fresh anointing that we may stand equipped for the days to come. May He grant us power, strength, patience and perseverance to shine His light to this darkened world, as we stand willing instruments to His calling. May this day become the beginning of a new day for us; that we become the People God has called us to be- not by might, not by power but by the Spirit of God.

Friend, I greet you and your family a Happy, Blessed and Joyous New Year. May God’s blessing shine on you in all that you and I end my greetings with a blessing found in Number 6: 24-26

“24 The Lord bless you, and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine on you,And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace”

In The name of our Lord Jesus Christ who by His sacrifice we are healed and made whole, who by His grace are we freed and redeemed, In JESUS NAME AMEN!

Merry Christmas AHF Philippines

Dear Saints of Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines,

Merry Christmas!

First of all I would like to thank and praise God for His great faithfulness, as He strengthens, empowers and builds His church. Wow, Merry Christmas to you dear friends; this Christmas sets Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines in another milestone, we now celebrate our 2nd Christmas together as a family of believers that are focused on Jesus and anchored on God alone.

As we celebrate this season of hope, I would like to share with you a simple thought that God has placed in my heart. I know that there is much to do and experience in Christmas, for this is the only time in the year when families are together, peace is celebrated and hope is rekindled. With this at heart, we busy ourselves in celebration, giving presents to each other, decorating and preparing for the festivities that follow this season of joy; yet let us not stand to be desensitized by this things and let us strive to refocus our eyes and anchor our hearts and souls. The true reason for the season is not the presents, not the celebration, not the decoration or the vast merriment that we so desire to enjoy; the reason for the season can be found in Isaiah 9:6

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

It was prophesied in the book of Isaiah that the savior will be born, to us a child; the Child is born. The most wonderful gift given was the child in swaddling clothes, laying in that manger; our redemption. The true reason for this season is the beacon of hope found in the birth of our savior Jesus Christ, for through his birth; a ministry of reconciliation was ushered in. By His love and sacrifice, by his stripes we are healed and made whole. Through His love we find redemption, by His grace we received salvation. In Christ we trust and all we are, all we have been and all we ever be is due to the power and love of Jesus Christ our Lord, the King of Kings, the author and finisher of our Faith.

Friends, I would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, truly God is faithful as He shines His loving kindness and His tender mercies. Truly God is gracious as each new day, each morning, each year we welcome stands testament to His compassion. May Faith, hope and love fill us as His peace emanates in our hearts as we anchor ourselves to God alone. May we fix our eyes on the reason for the season: Jesus Christ our Lord, and may we intentionally with all heart augment our walk with Him; seeking His face and basking in His presence. God be with you always!

Viewpoints: Armor Bearers Film Showing- Soul Surfer

The Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines Youth called the Armor Bearers held a film showing event at Ate Tania Bernardo’s house last December 10, 2011. We watched “Soul Surfer” which is about Bethany Hamilton, a surfer who lost her left arm due to shark attack but was able to pursue her dreams through her amazing faith in God.

Bethany Hamilton has become a source of inspiration to millions through her story of faith, determination, and hope. Born into a family of surfers on February 8, 1990, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, Bethany began surfing at a young age. At the age of eight, Bethany entered her first surf competition, the Rell Sun Menehune event on Oahu, where she won both the short and long board divisions. This sparked a love for surf competition within her spirit.

At the age of thirteen, on October 31, 2003, Bethany was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark while surfing off Kauai’s North Shore. The attack left Bethany with a severed left arm. After losing over 60% of her blood, and making it through several surgeries without infection, Bethany was on her way to recovery with an unbelievably positive attitude. Lifeguards and doctors believe her strong water sense and faith in God helped get her through the traumatic ordeal.

Miraculously, just one month after the attack, Bethany returned to the water to continue pursuing her goal to become a professional surfer. In January of 2004, Bethany made her return to surf competition; placing 5th in the Open Women’s division of that contest. With no intention of stopping, Bethany continued to enter and excel in competition. Just over a year after the attack she took 1st place in the Explorer Women’s division of the 2005 NSSA National Championships – winning her first National Title.

In 2007, Bethany realized her dream and turned pro. Bethany has since participated in numerous ASP and World Tour Events with her major highlight being a second place finish in the ASP 2009 World Junior Championships. (See Career Highlights and Surf Related News for more results)

Since losing her arm, Bethany’s story has been told in hundreds of media outlets and she has been recognized with numerous awards, public appearances, and various speaking engagements. (See Awards & Appearances)

In October 2004, Bethany shared her life story in her autobiography entitled Soul Surfer. Seven years later, the book was made into a major motion picture bearing the same title which released theatrically in April, and for home entertainment in August, 2011. Other books Bethany has written include “Devotions for the Soul Surfer,” “Rise Above,” A “Soul Surfer” Bible, “Ask Bethany,” and “Clash,” “Burned,” “Storm,” and “Crunch.” (See Books for publishing information) Further, Bethany was the inspiration behind Becky Baumgartner’s 2007 documentary entitled Heart of a Soul Surfer.

From a young age, Bethany’s parents instilled their faith in Jesus Christ; and at age 5, she made the decision to have a personal relationship with Him. Bethany’s foundation of faith has been her backbone; her source of truth, hope, and strength.

Out of the water, Bethany has grown from a young teenage girl with aspirations of becoming a professional surfer into a twenty-year old professional surfer with aspirations of becoming a beacon of inspiration and hope. Through the platform of professional sport, Bethany has been able to touch a large number of people with her message, charitable efforts, and overall spirit. Bethany just launched her own foundation, Friends of Bethany, which supports shark attack survivors, traumatic amputees, and serves to inspire others through her life story, and is involved in numerous other charitable efforts.

Bethany’s story is continually growing as she strives to be the best at whatever God calls her to do. The future is truly wide open for this young soul surfer!

We met up at Trinoma and headed to Ate Tania’s house. We enjoyed our trip indeed. We peacefully went in through their gate and greeted everyone in their house a good afternoon. Before we watched the movie, we settled our foodstuff. As the movie was played, we focused on different perspectives in the life of Bethany Hamilton. After the movie, we ate our early dinner together and had some picture-taking moment.

We had our devotion led by Kuya Akeem. In the movie, Jeremiah 29:11 was emphasized which states: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” If we take a closer look at something, we may not have the right perspective. Some things happen in a difficult way that makes us question the will of God. But we learned that God’s perspective is different from ours. His “wonderful” plan is different from the “wonderful” plan we think.
We also realized that if that didn’t happen, she wouldn’t be standing in front of many giving hope and courage to the people who lose their faith. It is painful but the pain she felt was a blessing. We saw how God moved into the life of Bethany and how God made her a beacon of hope and future.
We learned the value of love, faith, hope, and wisdom in the movie, “Soul Surfer.” With all conviction and faith: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” –Philippians 4:13. God bless!

Viewpoints: AHF Philippines “Mary’s Servant Heart” Message and 2nd Christmas Party

December has now officially began, the season of the year when hope is rekindled, love is empowered and peace stands attainable. Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines has been on countdown mode since early November as we look forward to what God has in store for our dear church come Christmas of 2011. Once more, we are nearing a milestone not wrought by what we have done or accomplished, but granted to us by the grace of God who empowers us all to stand as a beacon of His light at the heart of Quezon City. The day started out with a downpour of rain, yet it did not stop the faithful from coming and fellowshipping with their dear family in Christ. As the rain poured so did God’s blessing as He showered His goodness through the message Pastor Lyle shared to everyone this day.

This would be the last message of Pastor Lyle Lopez in AHF Philippines for 2011 since He will be traveling to Florida to speak and visit in partner churches and our main church in Crescent City; Abundant Harvest Ministries where He will be holding the God is in the House Florida Conference on December 31- January 1. Pastor Lyle will then be returning on January to launch the new series here in Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines.

Pastor Lyle Lopez, Sister Idonnah Villarico and Bro. Victor Cruz led worship and sang Christmas, praise and worship songs together with the band led by our musical director, Bro. Rommel Villarico. Such a joyous moment as God moved and inhabited the praise of His people. Everyone was excited for this day featured 3 events; the service, the Lord’s Supper and finally the Christmas party. Though everyone was already looking forward to the festivities to come after the service; each person was hungry for the word of God.

The message of Pastor Lyle Lopez was entitled, Mary’s Servant Heart. We learned in Luke 1:26-38 that Mary, a simple virgin promised in marriage to Joseph, humbly accepted the will of God and offered herself as a bondslave, a bondservant of the Lord. God sent the Angel Gabriel to the town of Nazareth in Galilee. The angel appeared to Mary and brought her the Good News. She was troubled by the angel’s message but the angel said that Mary should not be afraid for God favors her and that she will give birth to a Son and she will name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. How can that be if Mary is a virgin? The angel answered that the Holy Spirit will come upon Mary and God’s power will rest upon her. Luke 1:37 states: “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Mary submitted herself to the Lord and let the will of God be done. What we learned here was that we don’t worship Mary but we praise God for her, we don’t pray to her but we can emulate her servant’s heart. A heart not doubting or questioning.

She knew her place, she knew her calling, she was a servant of the most High God; a small part of a bigger plan to reconcile the lost to the Father. That is why we do not pray to Mary but we praise God for her, we do not worship her or her statue but we seek to emulate her servant heart which she exuded by God’s amazing grace in her life.
The Godhead is the only one we ought to worship, and to Him be all the praise yet we scorn not Mary but stand blessed, praising God for her. What we can take from Mary is her obedience and trust, her marvelous faith and her servant heart. A servant heart that would trust the best that God has planned, a servant heart that trusts and obey- no hesitation or query but marvelous faith.

God speaks to us that nothing is impossible with Him. A faithful servant comes from within a heart that accepts and returns; like Mary, she wholeheartedly accepted and followed the Holy Word of God. She trusted God in whatever may happen, from happiness to pain, until the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the rest of her life. In the most unexpected events of our lives comes the miracles of the Lord.

Together, we commemorated the Lord’s Supper and enjoyed the food at the Abundant table. Thus began the celebration for our Christmas party. We felt the presence of the Holy Spirit as we celebrate our Christmas party in our church.
Each family presented an astounding performance. Some sang songs as a group, others danced, while others performed amazing duets that filled each heart with joy. I believe that this is one of the most important movements in the church. As Pastor Lyle would always stated: “We ought to bring the Family together, putting God as their center and anchoring each heart to the King of Kings.” The joy of each family was evident in the laughter, cheering and smiles that enveloped the worship hall. The gift-giving moment gave a smile and laughter to everyone, as each person presented a gift to the person they picked that stood as meaningful tokens. We enjoyed every second of our Christmas party and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Truly the Best Christmas Party in AHF Philippines yet. All Glory and Honor to the King of Kings, Thank you Father!

Church Viewpoint: Cruise Ship or Battleship

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIUaa1P5fTY&w=640&h=360]

This video always drove the message home for me, how blessed I am with Igniter Media for making such wonderful videos. This video constantly reminds me why God placed me in a small church, where the needs of the people are higher than the needs of a building; where members are not but a sea of countless faces but a dear family we love and cherish. Where the dwellers humbly accept rebuke for they cherish to please God with their lives, not so much as think of reputation or stature. Where changed lives are more important than blatant enthusiasm. Where fathers can humbly ask for forgiveness from their sons and sons honoring their fathers and mothers. Where each person works hand in hand; standing in faith to love one another. Using tongues to edify, not to tear down. Loving the unlovable the way Christ asked us to Do. God reminds me of how much He has blessed me with Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines and the dear people that compose God’s church. The church God called me in is a church that stands as a Battleship; where obedience and service go hand in hand; where we Glorify God, Not man. Where the righteous stand firm to turn the hearts of the Fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous; to make ready a people for the Lord. To God be the Glory!Pastor Lyle Lopez

Worship God in Spirit & in Truth

Upon pondering earlier, I would state that it is imperative to truly check oneself and open ones eyes to the wrongs we are doing. Let us not be blinded by our righteous ideals, emotional movements in worship and blatant enthusiasm. Instead stand as a true worshipper as found in John 4:24

“For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

For no amount of worship songs, no amount of works will suffice since God does not delight in our sacrifice but He finds pleasure in our Obedience. Thus, stop fooling oneself; Worship God in Spirit and in Truth. Maybe it is time to look at ourself in the mirror, check and know what we do that we may harken to what is right, avoid the wrongs of life and live upright, walking with God in all we do. A Wonderful Poem I’ve heard before, which I had the pleasure of finding again, Thus I leave you with this poem and hope we ponder its meaning, check ourselves that we may stand right with God.

“You can fool the hapless public, You can be a subtle fraud,
You can hide your little meanness, But you can’t fool God!
You can advertise your virtues, You can self-achievement laud,
You can laud yourself with riches, But you can’t fool God!
You can criticize the Bible, You can be a selfish clod,
You can lie, swear, drink, and gamble, But you can’t fool God!
You can magnify your talent, You can hear the world applaud,
You can boast yourself somebody, But you can’t fool God!”
Khight’s Master Book of New Illustrations,
(Granville Kleiser)

May we stand firm in God, stop what we do for show, instead worship God in season and out of season, standing in Truth, standing in Spirit with utmost obedience to all that God asks us to accomplish. In Jesus Name Amen!

Bearing much Fruit in Times of Tribulation

Luke 4:24 Then Jesus added, “I can guarantee this truth: A prophet isn’t accepted in his hometown.

Jesus Christ was not supported nor accepted by his own biological brothers and sisters in his ministry. In the end, it was his trusted disciples, his mother and his followers that stayed with Jesus on the foot of that cross; not his kin but his brethren nonetheless due to their focus on God. Jesus Christ doesn’t need any validation from people. He did not force anyone who chose to embrace unbelief to follow Him. He desired to welcome those who were willing, ready to answer to his calling.

Praise God! Even on this account Jesus Christ had spoken these verses to comfort the modern day Teachers, Preachers who are downtrodden by Scoffers, Mockers and of poor souls with haughty critical spirit who tirelessly points a finger, judges and crushes the spirit of those who truly stand for the truth, not by mere sacrifice or service but “Obedience to God.”

Jesus Christ reminds us to bear much fruit less we loss the purpose as to why we exist as stated in Matthew 21:19

“Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.”

In this particular verse, Jesus did not curse the tree due to his hunger, He already saw the same tree grow and flourish before. He gave the tree a chance to bear much fruit in accordance to its purpose yet due to its obstinate nature, living only for itself: it was cursed to the ground, thus withering away. Same goes for people who call themselves followers of Christ yet does not exude God’s light in all aspects of their being. The excitement of worship, the crowd and the music are just blatant enthusiasm that they read for anointing. Being in -dwelt by the power of the Holy Spirit means that a person must bear much fruit, change must be seen in ones life in order for one to be called a true believer.

For our service has been for nothing, lest we bear much fruit and shine God’s light in our daily walk. Matthew 7:21-23 states:

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

For are service has been but filthy rags if we continue with the motion; yet have not completely changed our outlook. This truth is stated in Isaiah 54:6

“All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.”

Our service does not dictate or shine our salvation, our salvation is shone by the changes we have in ourselves that only a fervent desire to focus on God and power of the Holy Spirit can accomplish. Our critical spirit’s does not shine God’s goodness, but only reflects our immaturity and lack of knowledge in scripture. For we are called to edify the brethren, not tear down with our tongues.

If we want to please God, do so by obeying His commands; bear much fruit and be kind, loving to one another. Use your tongue to edify and encourage. Be a beacon of hope, not a scoffer of the fold. Paul encouraged us to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, evidence that we are Born Again by the power of the Holy Spirit. May we all bear fruit and mirror God’s light, acting in accordance to the goodness of God and reflecting God’s illuminating love in our lives.
