Beauty In Truth: There Can Only Be Peace When There is Truth

Ezekiel 13:10-115 – “Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter: “

Shalom is a Hebrew word meaning peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness and to be full. When we think of the word ‘peace’, we usually define it as the freedom from disturbance. Sadly, when we talk about peace today, it becomes a synonymous of cessation; a temporary solution. This isn’t supposed to be called as peace, because there’s no peace at all. People nowadays are having the same manner of what Israelites had- they hated their savior. They pretend that everything is becoming fine, that everything has no problem to deal with when in fact, they are just whitewashing or allowing the wickedness to flourish, engulf and cover up their sins. They don’t want to change because they are satisfied in regular programming. They just simply want to live the way they want to live in and depend on themselves. We must avoid such things because those who deceive will never inherit the kingdom of God. That isn’t true peace. True peace seeks righteousness. It should be an everlasting peace with God and receive all highest goods coming on our ways. Peace means we have to roll up our sleeves and get to work as we go beyond the call of duty instead of postponing something that is essential to be done. Peace will remain just as how we remain calm in times of pain, rejoicing and continuously being grateful of everything, knowing that God is your anchor, that he will never abandon you. By God’s righteousness, we will never ever be harmed. This real peace can only be achieved by seeking truth. We should walk in the truth for God, stay in his calling, be grounded in service and excel. May we not be counted with those who fall at false sense of peace. Let us not be fed with lies. Let us hate ignorance and embrace God’s holiness in order to obtain true peace.
