Christmas Dawnwatch: “The Advent of Our Salvation”

Christmas Dawnwatch Devotion 003- “The Advent of Our Salvation”

1 John 3:8 – “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil”

Christmas time is meant to be celebrated since it is the advent of our salvation, a reminder of our justification and the key to glory. The enemy works tirelessly each day, creating new ways to ensnares and enslave many to his will through sin. Sin is Satan’s business because he hates the light and beauty and purity and glory of God. Nothing pleases him more than when creatures distrust and disobey their Maker. Therefore, Christmas is good news for us all!

“The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).

“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).

That’s good news for. Christmas is good news for God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to destroy Satan and smite sin, the root cause of decay and corruption. He has marched right into the enemy’s camp and have raised the standard for the faithful. He has called for Christian solidarity this Christmas; a call to leave the bastion of the enemy. No negotiations, no bargaining. Just single-minded, unswerving opposition to the workings of wickedness. Unyielding till sin is completely destroyed by the power of our King. The call has been given, the trumpet has sounded as Christ has raised the standard. May this Christmas be a reminder of that call, that as Christian soldiers- we must go onward; fighting this war of faith! Knowing that the strike to the enemy’s greatest power has been done; today is the advent that satan’s fall, our sin’s fall, the world’s fall is assurred since Christ reigns supreme and we who walk circumspectly-rally to His call.
