Matthew 7:21-23 – 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that daymany will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you;depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

We can obviously identify that Jesus was the one who uttered those words from our key verse. He revealed that there will be fake Christians who will sound religious but don’t really have personal relationship with him. It will never be enough to own Christ as our master, only in word and tongue. It is significant that we believe in Christ, that we repent of sin, that we live a holy life, that we love one another.

Judgment day is approaching. People will be lovers of themselves and will look out for their own interests. Ignatius in A.D. 110 said, “Be not deceived, my brethren: if anyone follows a maker of schism, he does not inherit the kingdom of God.” A Christian who practice division isn’t a true Christian at all. We must learn to identify between the holy and profane so we will not be deceived by the maker of schism. If we love God, we must have an undivided and clean heart. To worship God is to worship Him in spirit and in truth. The book of Revelations tells us that every living persons will be split into 2 groups; the servants of God will bear His seal; which is the law in their foreheads. God clearly states that He gave the Sabbath as a sign of His power to create and sanctify, thus receiving God’s seal is obtained by keeping His law. We must keep his seal if we are truly his obedient servants. I pray that we will not be included in those people who receive the mark of the beast. But we can remind our brethren to draw near to God. But if they reject you in the second time, have nothing to do with them. God will be the one to handle everything and they will pay their sins especially on Judgment.

“What Have I Done To You?” By Pastor L.A. Lopez

As Abundant Harvest Fellowship International continues its series entitled: Battling Unbelief, Pastor L.A. Lopez discusses Micah 6:3-5 which is the scripture text for his message- What Have I Done To You?

Micah 6:3-5
“O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the Lord.”

The prophet Micah speaks for the Lord as he utters in verse 3 of Chapter 6 the word of the King to his people: “My people, what have I done to you, And how have I wearied you? Answer Me.” This is the question of our God who has given everything His people can hope for, salvation, deliverance, blessing, life but time and time again; the people of the Lord stood unfaithful to the King, disloyal to the One who gave them life, hope and a future. Studying the text, the historical situation is entirely not clear- though we can ascertain that; this query could have been given during the reign of King Hezekiah in the late eighth century. At the same time, hints of exilic and postexilic periods (e.g., rebuilding city walls; restoring national boundaries) may reflect expansions of the text over the years in view of new community situations. Now the passage indicates several things, first off; there is controversy between God and Israel, the language of a “Covenant Lawsuit” is sometimes used in this text as though God has called the nation of Israel, His people to lay on the table their grievances, lay on the table their reasoning for their adultery against Him. It is an emotional question, a question that painfully lingers as it is toned with exasperation. In tagalog; Ano ba ang ginawa ko sa yo? What have I done to deserve your ire, your hateful attitude, your adultery and disloyalty? The question is rhetorical yet unlike some who would use this, God does not use this accusingly but poses the question with immense hurt, immense pain & sorrow. As a father who has done all he can to ensure his children’s safety, success and wellness; yet is met with rebellion, met with disdain, with hate.

Pastor L.A. states –

“All that God has done is for us to give us a hope and future, to ensure our greatest good by sending forth His only begotten Son to be nailed on that cross, to carry our sin and rise up a sacrifice that our lives be spared from judgement. Yet how do we answer Him? How do we respond to such goodness, to His amazing love? Thus what God requires of us is simply put; Grateful Law Keeping. We who have been saved by grace are called to live a life of grateful law keeping, humbling each day for the rest of our lives before Him with godly fear and reverence which is our way of saying thank you Lord for all you have done.”

The Importance of Being Grateful

In this day and age, we see a decline in faith, a decline in gratitude and the crumbling of our humanity. Occasions and holidays are but dates where we get a silent reprieve from the everyday humdrum of life itself. Thus comes the question many in this age would ask- why celebrate thanksgiving; what have I to thank for?

Life my friend, we have life. If there is anything to be grateful for, it is the life bestowed upon us by God, our everyday; our family and friends and above all else- the hope and future to which every believer holds onto: Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Yet some of us may yet be aware of the origins of this holiday and the overall message that we ought to apply in our everyday life in regards to shining a thankful heart. Thus, we’d like to give you a brief history on the subject thus ending it with a greeting from our Senior Pastor as we here in AHFI stand to give thanks for all and everything. For in victory or defeat, in harvest or drought, in sadness or joy- we ought to give thanks.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 – “Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.”

A Brief History of Thanksgiving

Almost every culture in the world has held celebrations of thanks for a plentiful harvest. The American Thanksgiving holiday began as a feast of thanksgiving in the early days of the American colonies almost four hundred years ago.

In 1620, a boat filled with more than one hundred people sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to settle in the New World. This religious group had begun to question the beliefs of the Church of England and they wanted to separate from it. The Pilgrims settled in what is now the state of Massachusetts. Their first winter in the New World was difficult. They had arrived too late to grow many crops, and without fresh food, half the colony died from disease. The following spring the Iroquois Indians taught them how to grow corn (maize), a new food for the colonists. They showed them other crops to grow in the unfamiliar soil and how to hunt and fish.

In the autumn of 1621, bountiful crops of corn, barley, beans and pumpkins were harvested. The colonists had much to be thankful for, so a feast was planned. They invited the local Indian chief and90 Indians. The Indians brought deer to roast with the turkeys and other wild game offered by the colonists. The colonists had learned how to cook cranberries and different kinds of corn and squash dishes from the Indians. To this first Thanksgiving, the Indians had even brought popcorn.

In following years, many of the original colonists celebrated the autumn harvest with a feast of thanks. After the United States became an independent country, Congress recommended one yearly day of thanksgiving for the whole nation to celebrate. George Washington suggested the date November 26 as Thanksgiving Day. Then in 1863, at the end of a long and bloody civil war, Abraham Lincoln asked all Americans to set aside the last Thursday in November as a day of thanksgiving.

Psalm 77:11 “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old.”

To My Dear Family and Friends, My brothers and sisters @ Abundant Harvest Fellowship International, I would like to greet everyone a Happy Thanks Giving, Truly we have so much to be thankful for as another year draws to a close and a New Year springs forth. God is so gracious as He moves in our lives to empower, enlighten, strengthen and guide each heart, mind, soul to His calling. From the breath of life we hold dear, the mornings that we enjoy; the friends who keeps us smiling, and the family we cherish dearly- we must be thankful, We should be Thankful.

Psalm 136:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.”

Indeed, it is His love that gave life to us all, His love that gave us purpose, His love the helps us endure and His love that gave us salvation. His faithfulness stands thus we Give Thanks for these blessings, having a heart of gratitude to celebrate was has been given, cherish our relationships and strengthen our bonds of fellowship as we cleave to Christ alone.

Lamentations 3:22-23 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

In this verse, it is explained how each morning is suppose to be filled with Thanksgiving, filled with gratefulness for man in all his subtleties have not wisdom; we think we hold our destiny, have command of each breath; captains of our fate- master’s of our soul yet we live in borrowed time; temporary as the dew in the morning yet God’s love upholds us, guides us and empowers us to reach the peak of our destiny; not by our might but by cleaving to His truth empowered by His grace. Thus Be Thankful, Be intentional in being grateful and celebrate this day and each day with a new found appreciation for this gift we call: Life by cleaving to His truth, turning away from Sin and proclaiming the Lordship of Jesus Christ in each aspect of our existence.

Letter From The Senior Pastor: Never Give Up

Dear Saints,

As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have been through storms, moments of dryness and immense difficulty through various situations. I have understood that before every victory, we face mountains of disappointment, weakness in spirit and in the physical that threatens to take hold of us, pulling us to wallow in despair. The idealism of many that the christian life is not one of hardship is flawed and unscriptural for even the apostles in the early church faced insurmountable odds, even giving up their lives for the work to continue. Regardless of the difficulty, the exhortation is to consider it pure joy.

James 1:2-3 states – “2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”

Thus I stand in complete joy, not because I was told to change my outlook on it but because I see amidst the veil of calamity the silver lining to which our hope is placed. When everything falls apart, our call is to be still and trust in God. The psalmist once wrote in Psalm 42:5

“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation”

Yes we are cast down, yet each moment; those who walk in righteousness must take it upon themselves to preach to ones self that our hope is in God. Several years back, storms ravaged through my life especially in ministry. I stood in the midst of people I thought walked in righteousness, desired truth. I gave much, offering my life as a drink offering, standing with my family who gave so much as well to people who disdained the good we did. I saw friends go, enemies multiply. The good you do mocked and the the kindness you exude spat on. Heavy is the yoke a minister bears. You are called to sow yet the ground is rocky, irregular, infertile; and the birds fly around; stealing the word of God from the hearts of those who we gave our lives to impact and change. Despite the birds, the call is to sow, to plant; to preach the word in season and out of season. In all those times, even as I write this- one thing stood amidst the crashing waves of despair; my hope which is in God.

I look back on these things now as we have entered 6 years in church planting, I personally stand before each one of you; faithfully serving God for 14 years as a pastor and minister- not because of my strength and resolve. Like any person, I am but a frail, weak creature who seeks strength from the One who gave me life. We work and strive not for fame, glory, wealth or adulation; I stand to preach the word of God to see lives transformed, to answer the call of the King despite the people, despite the birds, despite the circumstance and situation. To this day, disappointment never ceases when we work in ministry, but regardless of that- I stand not to give up for my hope is in God. A song I heard one day that helped me through this path I take- Be still! Never giving up despite trouble. My life is given for the glory of God, in Him I place my hope- in Christ rises my victory!

House Challenge Update 1-3

As the House Challenge came to full effect, each Armor Bearer of their respective houses took up the challenge to minister and proclaim the word of God in the highways and byways. Each one stud, desiring to be a paragon of what is good, what is righteous, what is true. The week of September 18, 2016 proved fortuitous for House Obedient who garnered 1220 which made them the lead scorer, followed by House Holiness at 762 and House Truthful with 498 points. Additional points were awarded and negatives where bestowed due to attendance, conduct, etc. Each house was challenged to present Psalm 91 and Psalm 23 respectively. On the week of September 25, 2016; each house were given riddles and questions that garnered them points, they also presented their evangelism report. After service, Pastor L.A. Lopez and AHFi leadership challenged the Armor Bearers with the scripture presentation which would award the winning team with 500 points and Ice Cream. After each team presented, the scores were tabulated. House Obedient started on the top rank at 2229, followed by House Truthful with 1931 and House Holiness with 1847. Due to a brilliant presentation plus additional points given for service, and conduct; House Holiness rose up to 1st place with 2437, followed by House Truthful with 2351 and House Obedient with 2279. As the day waned, the final challenge was given.

A singular riddle was bestowed to all houses.

The riddle is as follows:

Adam, God made out of dust,
But thought it best to make me first,
So I was made before now,
To answer God’s most holy plan,
A living being I became,
And Adam gave to me my name,
I from his presence then withdrew,
And more of Adam I never knew.
I did my Maker’s law obey,
Nor never went from it astray,
Thousands of miles I go in fear,
But seldom on earth appear,
For purpose wise which God did see,
He put a living soul in me,
A soul from me God did claim,
And took from me the soul had fled,
I was the same as when first made,
And without hands or feet or soul,
I travel on from pale to pale,
I labor hard by day, by night,
To fallen man I give great light,
Thousands of people, young and old,
Will by my death great light behold,
No right or wrong can I conceive,
The Scripture I cannot believe
Although my name therein is found,
They are to me an empty sound,
No fear of death doth trouble me,
Real happiness I’ll never see,
To Heaven I shall never go, or to Hell below.
Now when these lines you slowly read
Go search your Bible with all speed,
For that my name is written there,
I do honestly to you declare,
“The answer is one word.”

All houses strived hard to answer, but only one stood victorious and that was House Holiness who answered the riddle correctly. Their answer was a whale.

Whale appears only four times in the Bible:

Genesis 1:21
Ezekial 32:2
Job 7:12
Matthew 12:40

Now when these lines you slowly read, so search your Bible with all speed for that my name is there, I do honestly to you declare.

Glory to God for House Holiness who stands the AHFI House of the Week, Garnering 200 points which moves their total to 2637 points under the leadership of Sister Ashly Manosca and Bro. Glen Manosca. Truly we are so blessed to see our youths grow in wisdom, in stature, in truth.

Meet The Teams

The Armor Bearers stand as the youth ministry of Abundant Harvest Fellowship International as headed by none other than our Senior Pastor, Pastor L.A. Lopez with the assistance of AB Minister of Operations, Minister Winchaell Villarico. Recently, Pastor L.A. Lopez challenged the Armor Bearers who hold their leadership meetings every Sunday at the place, and their outreach ministry called Armor Bearers Jr. In the Upper Room, Napindan Taguig. He called for house challenge, a particular competition that can be traced back to the beginning of AHFi. The house challenge calls the youths to be placed in 3 particular houses that are led by Ministers and Ministers in training. The mission: To Rise Up as an Armor Bearer.

In the beginning of September 2016, Pastor L.A. called forth House Obedient, House Truthful and House Holiness to rise up for the challenge. Each house will be tested through evangelism, theological examinations, challenges, purity and conduct. Every week, a new challenge is set forth for each house to face. On the first week, it was House Truthful that garnered much points which was quickly upset by House Obedient who lead the second week; with house holiness biding its time. The challenge is on, the houses are raised- who will win the house challenge, which youth shall lead their house to victory: rising up as the Armor Bearer who walks in truth, obedience, faithfulness and holiness? Only time will tell!

“Your Faith Will Protect You” By Pastor L.A. Lopez

2 Corinthians 1:8-11
8 For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in [a]Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life; 9 [b]indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead; 10 who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, [c]He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us, 11 you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many.

One of the most constant preoccupations of our culture which is to ask the question: “Why do bad things happen to good people?” A common question for both the unbelieving and those who profess to be believers. By God’s grace and a firm understanding of biblical truth, Pastor L.A. Lopez gives a biblical reasoning for painful tribulation, and how a true believer may rise up protected by exuding indestructible faith in the face of difficult circumstances.

“Painful tribulation draws the seekers to God and pushes away those whose trust is in themselves; the reason for the occurrence of ill things is to sift through the tares and wheat, to validate the faith of the faithful and cast those who are truly not for God; for these tribulations if you will are birthing pains of the coming of God’s kingdom. “The Consuming Fire of God” By Pastor L.A. Lopez

As Abundant Harvest Fellowship International continues its series entitled: Be Christ Exalting, Pastor L.A. Lopez discusses 1 Kings 18 which is a time of great spiritual conflict as the children of God strayed from the truth, the strayed from the times of Joshua when the whole nation cried in one voice; we shall serve the Lord. Thus tragedy has struck, tragedy because of their refusal to be set apart from the gods of the society that surrounded them and as such their idolatry became their judgement.
The outcry of this message as it was with the outcry of Elijah is to be cleansed, to be washed. That our lives which stands as a sacrifice should be soaked and saturated in the word of God. And with a prayer- everything was consumed by fire, Hebrews 12:29 says for our God is a consuming fire. This was a type and shadow of the consuming fire of God that consumes everything that is not of Him. To be changed completely. Consume anything not of Him; our sinful attitude, any form of wickedness in us, darkness, greed, envy, jealousy. People who walk in carnality; our hunger for the world; our hunger to sate the lust in ourselves.

And at the time of the offering of the oblation, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you have turned their hearts back.” Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. Dear Saints,

Greetings, May the grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you; may His truth shine on your path as His word be lamp unto our feet for His tender mercies never cease; as they are renewed each morning.

I would like to begin by remembering the first moment I started writing a message at the beginning of my ministry here in the Philippines. I remember the joy of seeing the fluidity of God’s thought come alive as I readied myself for the launching of Abundant Harvest Fellowship International; the first church I officially planted with my family as we desired to plant a church that would stand as a sanc- tuary to the saints; a place of refuge to those wearied by this world and a safe ha- ven for believers to grow in the Lord, live a life of purity as we worship the King

in Spirit and in truth. I still remember being torn, I have served years past as a Youth Pastor for several churches as God has always guided my hand and willed each work I endeavored to grow; during these years I have learned to speak the word of God soundly yet lacking the personal touch that my mother was striving to instill in me a couple of nights prior to the launch we had on October 10, 2010. Stubbornly, I decided to go to my comfort zone, thus I began preparing the message the way I always had but as I typed away; the Holy Spirit impressed upon me a simple truth- that no matter how wonderful my teaching could be; if I could not win the heart of the people; it has been for nought. I asked God for wisdom and discernment as I strived to write my message the way my mother had been encouraging me to do so; to open my heart to the people who will for the first time come to my church. To share my life with them, my experiences, my walk with God and how He turned each sorrowful story into overwhelming joyous victory. As I wrote, the words just kept on coming until I saw that I already finished the message; rather God already finished it through me. I shared the message God impressed upon me that Sunday and God moved and used it to impact so many, thus I’ve been teaching, preaching the word of God that way ever since. In this small book that God has impressed me to share with you; I have compiled a few of my teachings that I pray would be a blessing to you as I pray it stand to recalibrate your Christianity as we seek Christ in our walk. My desire is that this book would aug- ment your quiet time and help lead you to a fruitful life in Christ Jesus. This devotional was created not to replace the Bible, nor should you think that reading one day of this book should suffice your spiritual needs. Friend, we all need meat- we need the Bible to fill us and nourish us. Think of this book as a once a day tablet that upon be taken with your actual meal would augment the nutrients synthesized to build up your immune system, and keep you healthy. This devotional was cre- ated to share with you some insights that God has impressed upon me as you read the ever living word of the Most High God.

This devotional book is designed as an In-depth reader if you will, with hard spiritual truths to mull over and I pray that each day may stand as a challenge for us to check ourselves, humble our hearts, commit to change and ask God for the strength to follow through the recalibration of our Christianity. At the end of the 30 days, my prayer is that you would have applied the truths you’ve learned each day simultaneously as we strive to become the people God called us to be, not by might nor power but by His Holy Spirit.
